If you are interested in a Community Education topic that is not listed on our web site, please contact Darielle at 612-752-6649 to see if a presentation on your topic could be arranged. 1) Landlord/Tenant Rights and Responsibilities This class gives basic information on Landlord/Tenant Rights and Responsibilities. The class includes a quiz, a discussion of common issues, discussion of common scams, and Q & A. Length: 1 hour Target Group: Renters or soon to be renters, primarily low income. Topics covered are checking and improving your credit score, using credit cards, planning for your homeownership goal and common scams and pitfalls to be aware of. Length: 1 hour Target Group: Low income renters working toward homeownership. Summary: A jeopardy style game designed to introduce teenagers to family law. Categories include Pregnancy, Dissolution, Paternity, Child Support, and Rights of Family Members. Classes are presented by attorneys and staff from the Volunteer Lawyers Network. Legal fact sheets and legal resources for youth are made available to students after the presentation.
