As Family Law Resource Attorney, Tom supports volunteers helping clients with family law issues.  In addition to answering volunteer questions and developing resources for volunteers, Tom supervises and manages VLN’s family law services.  His vision for VLN is that our clients receive the same level of service from a volunteer attorney as they would if they were able to pay an attorney.

Tom joined VLN in September of 2005 as an Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Attorney focusing his work on developing opportunities for volunteer attorneys and law students.  In 2007 Tom transitioned to his current role supporting family law volunteers.  Tom received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry (2000) and his J.D. (2004) from the University of Minnesota. 

For the past two years Tom has volunteered for Accountability Minnesota preparing taxes for low income families.  Tom also won a blue ribbon from the Minnesota State Fair for Crop Art in 2007.
