Suzanne Tresnak

As Linea Legal Latina Manager, Suzanne supports Spanish speaking volunteer attorneys in their efforts to provide efficient and high quality legal advice and referrals to Spanish speaking individuals who have little or no access to legal advice. Her goal is to strengthen and expand the services of Linea Legal Latina by retaining more Spanish speaking volunteer attorneys and law students, facilitating community Educational seminars on legal hot topics and creating efficient hotline and clinic experiences for both clients and volunteers alike.

Suzanne started working at VLN in November 2007.  Prior to working at VLN, Suzanne was a staff attorney in the Family and Immigration Unit at Centro Legal, Inc., a non-profit community law office that provides legal services to the Latino community in Minnesota.   Suzanne was also a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Robert D. Walker, 5th Judicial District.  Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Suzanne graduated from Drake Law School in 1999 and the University of Iowa in 1995.  Suzanne learned to speak Spanish fluently when she lived for several months with her mother’s family in Quito, Ecuador.  She is also fluent in French because her family was stationed at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (S.H.A.P.E.) near Mons, Belgium.

Suzanne has volunteered with the Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights and currently volunteers with Meals on Wheels.
